From the BEGINNING |
Where i am now |
Libraries were always fascinating, freeing and forgiving. Where can you go when you have no money and the luxuries of life are not available to you--The Library. Public libraries are the equalizers of education. Many people who can't afford formal schooling learn from library visits. Academic libraries are hubs for research and experimentation. I have been fortunate to work for both types of libraries and remain grateful for the experiences they afforded.

Libraries are still fascinating. No one can deny the beauty of Trinity College Library in Ireland or the Codrington Library in England, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. and my former employer the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
Currently, I spend more time on computers then walking through grand halls with marble floors, the fascination with libraries is different, but still inspiring. |
Currently, Distance Services Librarian for the John B. Coleman Library at Prairie View A&M University.
Published in several peer reviewed journals, including: Journal of Library and Information Service for Distance Learning, Journal of Library Administration and Management, Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, Journal of the American Society for Information Technology. I spend a lot of time looking at technology and how it can be used in libraries to benefit students. My current research, as a doctoral candidate uses virtual and augmented reality to reduce library anxiety. Unfortunately, not everyone feels as comfortable in libraries as I, so I want to understand why and find solutions. |
